Steven Bupp: MD, Medical Director
Dr. Steven Bupp joined Sonora Behavioral Health in 2002 bringing with him extensive clinical and administrative experience. Dr. Bupp is a highly respected and recognized medical administrator in Tucson having served as the Medical Director for the Tucson Psychiatric Institute, Charter Behavioral Health Systems, Southern Arizona Mental Health Center and Carondelet Health Network. In addition to his role at Sonora, Dr. Bupp is currently the Medical Director of CODAC Behavioral Health, the Chief Executive Officer of Southwest Biomedical Research Foundation and Clinical Instructor in Pharmacy Practice and Science at the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy. Dr. Bupp actively co-investigates ongoing Pharmaceutical Research Studies, pens articles and abstracts and speaks at a variety of community clinical groups. His clinical specialties include Psychopharmacology, Psychosis and Chemical Dependency.
 
 
Farietta

Tatyana Farietta: MD, Medical Director of Child and Adolescent Services
Dr. Farietta joined Sonora after relocating from Miami, Florida. She received her medical degree from Loyola University Chicago, Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood, Illinois. She completed her fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Miami. Prior to moving to Tucson, Dr. Farietta was an instructor at the University of Miami School of Medicine where she was medical director of the child and adolescent outpatient clinic. Her experience also includes providing mental health services to communities and public schools. Dr. Farrietta is bilingual and specializes in the psychiatric treatment of children and adolescents at Sonora.

 
 
Douglass

M. Anderson Douglass: MD, Staff Psychiatrist
Dr. Douglass received his medical degree from the University of Kentucky in Lexington and completed his residency at the University of Louisville. He is licensed in Arizona and Virginia. He is board certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. His experience is with both adult as well as children and adolescents with an emphasis on complicated psychiatric and substance abuse issues. As a Major in the Air Force, he coordinated wartime preparedness during Operation Desert Storm and directed inpatient and outpatient services at Offutt Air Force base in Nebraska. Additionally, he has served as medical director at St. Albans Psychiatric Hospital in Virginia for seven years and also maintained a private practice. Most recently, Dr. Douglass was medical director and provided clinical services at Providence Service Corporation in Tucson.

Saul Perea

Dr. Perea joined Sonora Behavioral Health in 2007. He received his medical degree from the University of Baja in Mexico and performed his internship and residency training at the University of Arizona in Tucson and currently serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the U of A's School of Medicine. In addition to his board certification in Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine, Dr. Perea obtained a post-doctoral fellowship in Consultation Psychiatry and Psychosomatic Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard University, Harvard Medical School. Dr. Perea has been in private practice in Tucson since 1998 with special interests in General Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine and psychiatric conditions of the mentally ill.

Nelson R. Rosario

Dr. Nelson Rosario received his medical degree in 1980 from the University of Central Del Caribe in Puerto Rico. He completed his residency at The Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Pennsylvania. He is board certified in adult psychiatry and licensed to practice in the states of Arizona, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Mexico and North Carolina. Dr. Rosario moved to Tucson in 1993. He was the medical director of the Carondelet Extended Care Psychiatric Unit and served as chairman and consultant for two other Carondelet hospitals. Dr. Rosario is bilingual and bicultural and specializes in adult psychiatry.

David Brooks

David Brooks: MD, Training Director for Child & Adolescent Inpatient Services
Dr. Brooks joined Sonora Behavioral Health in 2007. He completed his education at University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio. Dr. Brooks completed his Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Fellowship at the University of Arizona College of Medicine. Dr. Brooks provides supervision at Sonora for the University of Arizona's Psychiatry Residency Program and the Child and Adolescent Fellowship Program. In addition to working at Sonora, Dr. Brooks currently provides outpatient psychiatry services for Pantano Behavioral Health.

Karen Floyd

Karen Floyd: DO, Staff Psychiatrist
Dr. Floyd graduated from St. Olaf College in 1996 with BA degrees in Studio Art, and Polictics and the Visual Arts. She later attended Des Moinies University where she obtained her Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine in 2006. Dr. Floyd completed her training in Psychiatrry at the University of Arizona where she was the Chief Resident from 2009 – 2010. Dr. Floyd graduated from the University of Arizona in July 2010 and immediately assumed a position at Sonora as a member of the medical staff treating adult patients.
